ATTENTION HOT RODDERS WORLDWIDE

This is your first Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour report live from the Courtyard by Marriot in downtown Milwaukee, WI.... reported from "long Hauler" Johnson. (A long hauler is a person/vehicle that 'does' the Power Tour all the way to the end- Orlando, FL.). It all started in Rockford, IL yesterday where I traveled, in our Detroit Locker supercharged Chevy SSR, to Chicago O'Hare to collect our co-pilot Mac Bernd from Hot Rod Happenings.com (Dallas HQ).
After a brief wait in an illegal parking spot @ O'Hare...there was Mac! And we were off for the starting line of the Power Tour. A brief speed run on the interstate (140 MPH-more to come), we then cruised to Cheezetown. We were pleased by the video cameras, 'thumbs up', and all manner of fellow interstate travelers who noticed and recorded this unique creation. Very gratifying after the toil and sweat that went into this SSR.
A quick night's sleep after a 'better than average' Friday's dinner and we were 'in the mood' for Miller Stadium after a quick detail and a 22 second 'top lowering'. Since Detroit Locker is a major sponsor for the tour we were able to skirt the long registration lines. Next stop the 'Bassanni Trailer.' Famous exhaust guru and good friend Darryl Bassanni provides an exhibit trailer for Detroit Locker and its products along with Tremec transmissions, Denso Spark Plugs, QA-1 Shock Absorbers and most importantly Detroit Locker.
Our Detroit Locker SSR drew a lot of attention as swarms of fellow Power Tour and local 'lookie-loos' examined the details of our Chevy SSR complete with it's Axiom Design Solution exterior pieces, Magnacharger under the hood, and fast acting Detroit Truetrac locker in the rear.
A brief rainstorm drifted through the area at about 3:30 causing a 20 min. panic then the skies cleared to a postcard end of a truly great day....Thank you Hot Rod Magazine and the weather gods! The immediate future calls for a sizzling steak for dinner here in 'Cheesville' and an early wake-up call (in time for a quick Stuf Products detail) for 'lift off' at 9:00 from Miller Stadium headed for Springfield, IL (about 300 miles) joined by 3000 fellow traveling hot rods, trucks, and whatever.
We'll be reporting to you from Springfield tomorrow at press time
Until tomorrow ................................. Mac - hard at work Don - is he really working or signing an autograph?
